Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic drainage is sometimes termed ‘massage’ because it involves hand movements on the skin but it is very different from therapeutic or aromatherapy massage which can cause friction to the skin and increase the blood supply. This, in turn, causes more lymph to be produced.
Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) provides regular stimulation of the lymph vessels under the skin. It encourages them to work harder and find new pathways to drain away the lymph using a milking or syphoning effect to move lymph away from the swollen area.
MLD is a very special type of massage designed to stimulate the lymphatic system. The hand movements and sequences are adapted for each person. It must be carried out by a qualified practitioner. Ask your lymphoedema therapist if you might benefit from MLD.

Fibroblast Treatment
Fibroblasts are extremely important cells found in the dermal layer and throughout the rest of the body.
In the dermis, fibroblasts create the all-important collagen and elastin fibres which give the skin its firmness and elasticity. However, the natural ageing process causes fibroblasts to become inactive in adults unless stimulated by a wound healing process or inflammation.
During your treatment, tiny electrical flashes from the tip of the fibroblast pen to the skin, called plasma flashes, stimulate the fibroblast cells to produce new collagen and elastin. They also evaporate skin cells causing the surrounding tissues to contract and tighten immediately.
Highly controlled, precisely targeted skin damage triggers the healing response, which in turn boosts collagen and elastin production and tightens the skin. New skin, thin, soft and pink then shows through. Make-up may be used to hide the new skin until it matures and matches the surrounding skin colour.

Mesotherapy
Facial Mesotherapy is a micro-needling procedure to infuse the layer of tissue under the skin – the mesodermal layer – with natural nutrients to turn back the clock on ageing and sun damage. Cosmetic creams never reach the all-important mesodermal layer where cell repair and growth occur. In most cases, four treatments, with maintenance once or twice a year, will give a very pleasing result. Tired skin becomes noticeably smoother, firmer and more radiant. Clients of all ages, men and women alike, can achieve a glowing, youthful skin texture.
